This software is a standalone solution information decision. It allows you to create your own universe and then assembling your queries with ergonomics rather close to that of Business Objects to obtain a single data provider, sufficient in most cases. This reporter is opensource software under GPLv3 licence and available in French and English. It consists of two modules, an administration module "Panda-Adm" which requires an Oracle database (9i minimum) and a requestor module "Panda-Qry" that can work with Oracle, Mysql, MsSql, PostgreSql databases for data. Access to the database can use either the traditional client connection of the workstation (eg tnsname for Oracle) or access via a Web Service Soap (Apache Server and cgi-bin service). The Web Service server is included in the package. In the case of data access via the web service, no Oracle client or database driver is required on the workstation. Panda-Adm: The administration module "Panda-Adm" manages entirely universes as BO, it uses a Panda-Qry repository and manages an unlimited number of universes. It provides all the functions of creation / export / import of universes and the management of the constituent elements, tables, aliases, joins, classes and objects. At least one Oracle database is required to manage the repository. For this, you can install Oracle XE 11G, free version and very easy to install. To download Oracle XE click here. This module is interfaced with Business Objects 6.5.1 Oracle repository. You can recover your full BO universe for import into Panda-Qry repository. If you have a Business Objects universe XIR2 or XIR3, there is a method to downgrade in BO version 6.5.1. Universe: The role of a universe is to provide a simple and understandable interface for non-specialist users of the SQL language. Visible objects in the universe must match the end user's business environment as well as its vocabulary. They thus constitute a professional interface replacing the SQL structures of the database. The universe Panda-Qry is built like a BO universe. A unique way and without loop connects all the tables and aliases. This is the path which is the basis for determining the join plan for a query. The "join shortcuts" are supported and can be used to find a more direct route between tables. In this case, Panda-Qry provides a combinatorial-based algorithm to resolve loops introduced by the joins shortcuts. The join plan involving the minimum of necessary tables will be retained. One can also choose to use a mode similar to the default mode of BO (SHORTCUT_BEHAVIOR= successive), easier and faster, which will retain a single shortcut join that eliminates the maximum of tables from the join plan. Panda-Qry: The module requestor is a data provider in principle equivalent to that of BO 6.5.1. You can edit your query intuitively and without knowledgeable about the SQL language, develop complex conditions, and then export the result rows in Microsoft Excel, Word or other desktop tool so as to finalize the analysis, layout or edition. You can save your queries in repository catalog and share them with other users. The interface with Excel allows you to run a predefined macro that opens all the possibilities of a VBA macro like master detail presentation, formatting cells, the addition of calculated columns or graphics, and Word mail merge. A screenshot on the left shows the formatting of a data table, the formatting of columns in Euros, adding totals, adding a title and adding a graphic. A second screenshot on the left shows a master detail presentation with rupture on the first column and subtotals. A third screenshot on the left shows a 3D histogram. Excel templates with macros to set are provided. The simplest configuration consists of a single Oracle database (9i minimum) which contain both the repository and data. A tutorial and a demonstration universe are provided with the corresponding data set. If you have difficulties to install the new version, check the browsing history of your browser that may have kept the "Setup" from the previous version This program is free for download.
